“Now A Music Major”

“I have been using your program with all of my homeschooled children for over 10 years…one is now a 22 year old music major who was not interested in music before I “made” him learn piano.”

Course Reviews

“The Progressive Pianist is self-explanatory and is perfect for the entire family.”

“The Progressive Pianist is a complete piano program that allows your child to learn to masterfully play the piano, whether you know anything about music or not!”
Heart of the Matter Magazine

“Even beginners with no musical background can learn to play the piano with this curriculum! Designed by an experienced piano teacher, this program gives you the basic tools to read and perform music of any style.”
Christian Book Distributors

“The Progressive Pianist teaches theory as well as technique…students will find it enjoyable and exciting to play the performance piece in the book in duet and with the other voicings. This program could be taught by the parent or the student could study independently.”
Home Educator Magazine

“The Progressive Pianist is designed for parents who don’t have a music background. It was created by a homeschooling mother as an affordable way for homeschoolers to teach music to their children. I really love the tone of this book: the lyrics of the pieces are lovely depicting a stay-at-home mother, and a father who plays with his children. Fully orchestrated accompaniments to each song makes practicing fun. Kids especially enjoy this! You can have a year’s worth of music lessons for the same amount you would spend on one month’s worth of private lessons.
Latter Day Family Resources

Music facts are taught in the lesson through a performance piece and finger exercises are assigned to stretch and strengthen the finger muscles. Included are studies on the ‘Elements of Sound’ and ‘About the Piano’. A year of piano lessons for less than the price of one month with online support!
Canadian Home Education Resources

Each new concept is thoroughly covered so children not only can play music, but so they understand musical theory. The author has composed the performance pieces in each lesson that reinforce what they have learned. The pieces are about home, the family, being diligent with the schoolwork, obeying parents and so on. The recordings are clear-sounding, providing a model so students can evaluate their own performances. This course is pretty well self-explanatory for older children and instructions and information are straightforward and easy to read, so parents don’t have to be “musical” to use this course with their children.

I would teach the children music, physics and philosophy, but the most important is music, for in the patterns of the arts are the keys to all learning.
